    AMZN Buyout

AMZN would be stupid to buy NFLX at this price (or even higher). They'd have to pay around $3-4B for NFLX when they could acquire blockbuster for less than half a billion.

If AMZN is interested in acquiring a live video stream service provider they should buyout BBI, close all physical stores to cut overhead and do that. Buying NFLX at these prices would be idiotic. The Blockbuster brand would be so much easier to incorporate into the Amazon website IMO.

I sold and took profits today.

    • Amazon has no desire to pay sales tax, eroding margins.

    • LOL...that's stupid. Why would AMZN, whose business model was founded on not being laden with brick/mortar overhead burdens, decide to BURDEN ITSELF with a money pit of worthless bricks and mortar? lol.

      • I would completely agree with you IF I had suggested that they acquire BBI and continue doing business as usual. What I suggested is that instead of acquiring NFLX which would cost bewteen $3-4B AMZN could acquire BBI which comes at a fraction of the price and has a brand name. No matter who owns BBI; it's quit clear that they have to close all their stores to cut overhead. All that said, I did not look into the financial statements of BBI to see what kind of debt they are burdened with but I assume that it would still be at a fraction of the cost that NFLX would cost at this time. NFLX is beyond overpriced and with BBI closing stores, I think you can bet on BBI starting a great attack campaign on NFLX with lower prices. It's better to lose money a quarter or two on stealing business from AMZN with lower prices than it is to operate BBI storefront rental shops. You can see it already that BBI are closing stores. I highly doubt that the BBI brand name will go anywhere and you can bet that whoever owns it now or later will fight hard to steal business from NFLX.

amazon buys winners. not losers. No one wants blockbuster. Netflix is a growing weed. That's the type of firm amazon wants to acquire.
