RED BOX does about $1.2B in revenue/year and profits about $400M i would guess. Figure, they get about $30 in revenue/movie. They probably get them for about $10 a piece, profit $20/movie, plus cost of machines, labor, employees, licensing fees, etc. Looks to be about $8 per movie profit. Each machine generates about $50k sales/year times 25,000 machines. that is just over $1.2B in revenue. 30% profit margin. NFLX would be able to take this to the n'th degree and explode. They would pretty much corner the market.
That would be a bad idea. i have a manya person say its a pain bringing the movie back the next day. Plus the box doesnt have enough selections in it for movie people. Spend more money on gas going from box location to bax location hoping to find the movie you want. No No NO very very bad idea.
