    MOvies at $25 per couple

I am not invested in NFLX but company is the big 800 lb gorilla in the movie business. Streaming from xbox, wii, ipod, ipad, phones. I can see now why the stock has been a winner. The cost of going out to a movie is no less than $25. Now that everyone has BIG SCREEn's it's like movie night at home.
Good luck to buyers of NFLX ..wish I had gotten in when the stock fell to $100 a month ago..

    • And that is why Time Warner and other studios are going to start releasing new movies via cable for $20-30. Do you even read? And despite all these comments you have dopes in the media stating it will have no impact on NFLX. Well you just proved them wrong cause after all if you see the new release at your home why in the world would you rent it? Yet all of you make no sense at all as you seek to blindly buy a stock you no nothing about.

    • Only problem is that the selection/offering from netflix streaming is horrible. I had it. I cancelled my subscription. Imagine paying for those OLD movies and shows?

Either netflix needs to stream all the movies that are available on DVD, or it's just not worth it. I can download every current show and movie for FREE from the internet.

Also, their user interface is lousy. But that's easily fixed.

Bottom line: current content - or go home.

      • Don't forget the cost of a baby sitter. And add the frustration of sitting through an expensive movie just because you have so much sunk cost.

Contrast that to streaming where if the movie sucks one just stops out of it and moves on to another movie. And what does one do when things start to heat up IYKWIM? Just hit the pause button and finish the movie the next day.

Oh wait, shorts will never know the importance of needing to stop a movie for some luvin. LOL

    • It’s would be more like $40 if you count popcorns and soft drinks, not to mention gas and traveler time. There is little reason to spend that kind of money other than for people who must see first release movies. Movie theater operators are the ones who really should be worried.
