Can't believe people get a kick out his antics. Some people trust what he says.
He just explained how Netflix did this to move people into the NEW technology of streaming and off the antiquated DVDs and Blue-rays.
He neglected to mention the streams were of old and/or 2nd rate movies and the movie by mail were the new, in demand movies.
He is so full of crap. I detest people like this. He's not funny - he's an royal a-hole!
It's amazing how many people view Cramer as a trading god, instead of the entertainer that he is, I only watch him so I know which way the herd will run off his words. As far as taking trader advice I would sooner listen to Sybil, and we all know how wrong she or he can be.
The one item that keeps getting overlooked is metered usage on the net. NFLX's general counsel wrote an OpEd piece in last week's WSJ pleading not to move to usage-based pricing on the internet.
NFLX would be done...toast...if it goes that way. NFLX is a distributor, nothing more, nothing less. Distributors do not get the kind of P/E or valuation that NFLX is sporting...it's just a matter of time.
I would be very surprised if Cramer ever took the time to really take NFLX out for a good test drive, or he could not honestly be pumping this overinflated pig and their sorry selection of content.
He forgot to mention that the company is cash strapped and needs more revenue than ever to keep up with their rising costs. State St. is a major holder of NFLX. He won't say anything bad about NFLX. I don't take Cramer seriously.
cramer is not stupid, he is just a crook. the guy is the biggest crook and manipulator! he never mentioned other competitors that could also do the same. nflx is not the only game in town. he's been pumping nflx and cmg forever.
He's neither. He's a momentum trader that masquerades occasionally as someone who cares about fundamentals. He's got a platform to buid and harness momentum and he does. He will push it until after the top and then stop talking.
He has missed the fact that streaming is all old crappy stuff. Further, he is ignoring that this was done out of necessity. NFLX is hosed, even with this pricing change. The DVD is the distinctive offering, but folks will downgrade to 1 DVD. They'll ship more often keeping postage high. The legacy costs won't end. More streaming will dump for YouTube and Amazon Prime.
It's going to be a good time to be short. Make sure you can withstand a bad run to 320...
