I just cancelled Starz from my cable bill. They just had the same stale choices month after month. A heck of a lot of repeats. They have some original programming that's mostly yawn-inducing. Time Warner was giving it to me at a "discount", interestingly, at 9 dollars a month. It wasn't worth that. The operator tried to tell me what a good deal it was under the regular cost in the teens. So Starz is discounting to Time Warner but is also about to lose NFLX revenues. It's a two way street for NFLX/STARZ. But the percentage of STARZ content relative to total NFLX offerings is probably pretty low. It's hardly a NFLX killer. Starz will totally lose NFLX revs though. I think I'm going to sign up for NFLX for less than I was paying for "discounted" STARZ, and get tens of thousands of On Demand streaming choices in the bargain. Eventiually imo STARZ will come back to NFLX on better terms for NFLX. Hastings is pretty canny on media wheeling/dealing so I give him the benfit of the doubt on his negotiating stance.
