I said 100 is pin, more like 100.25. Unreal. Machines in control. If it goes to 100.45, they knock it down, if it goes to 100.10, they pop it up. Anyone else watching this, or am I the only one?

    • LOLOLOL. This is hilarious, I am on sideline and watching this unfold. Pop, then drop. Drop, then pop. Keeping it so close to 100.25 that its almost too much to watch. HFT's are the end of our world as we know it.

      • When I took up daytrading a dozen years ago we were small guys filling cracks in the market. Now the market is over 50% spec. Even daytraders are squeezed out - a market run on options traffic, banks flipping stocks, hedge fund program trading, etc. Neither political party will tackle the banks, hedges and brokerage houses.

While it is simple-stupid making money daytrading a stock like NFLX (the self-balancing computer programs behave predictably) I wonder about our future.

I don'f know if this a house of cards. I do know it is bad for the nation. We need policies FORCING institutions and others to invest long-term. Probably greater tax rate differentials based on period of investment with prohibitive rates on holds less than a month. I would lose. The nation would benefit.
