SEBI orders freezing of 2 Sahara firms’ accounts

Taking stern actions against Sahara in the high-profile investor refund case involving over Rs 24,000 crore, market regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) today ordered freezing of bank accounts and attachment of all properties of two group firms and top executives, including Subrata Roy. SEBI's action follows directions from the Supreme Court, which had said last week that the market regulator was free to freeze accounts and attach properties if Sahara group firms were not depositing the money with it for refund to investors.

Anmuth, who spent about eight years as a Lehman Brothers analyst, joined Barclays after the British bank acquired Lehman's U.S. assets following its bankruptcy filing. He will report to Noelle Grainger, head of research for the Americas. A call to Grainger was not immediately returned and Anmuth could not be reached. Barclays declined comment through a spokesman.
Anmuth will replace Imran Khan, who recently joined Credit Suisse (CS_) as an investment banker.
