Is adding Netherlands a good thing?

First they have to spend money to advertise it, second they have to buy content in Dutch language if they want to be competitive in the country, so getting into even more debt upfront with very little potential.... Secondly, Netherlands is crazy about soccer, so they won't cancel their cable for this...

    • They prefer English language, not Dutch, it will just be subtitled in Dutch, which is obviously the content they will license there, by definition.
It is another marginal market and underscores what a mistake Latin America was, otherwise they would have gone to bigger markets like Spain, Italy and France. Those markets will obviously be letdowns and Netflix is afraid to invest there without a better due diligence than they did in Latin America.
There is not much left as Asia is out, Latin countries they seem to be afraid of, Eastern Europe is not easy and doesn’t have a lot of excess cash. Looks like original content is necessary, implosion by January.

      Sentiment: Strong Sell
