If it's true that ISP's such as Verizon and Cable co's are unhappy with Netflix, what ramifications? Currently Netflix is taking up 30% of network bandwidth, so you might say 30% of ISP's infrastructure/support cost is for Netflix's service and they are not getting a dime on this.
I think this frustration is real and is weighing on ISP's to find a resolution. Possible solutions?
use netflix .. i dropped my cable and use CLEAR wireless..Been doing so for over a year now... I talked them into a deal for 20 bucks per mo.... then I just bought the subscription to netflix.. total cost me under 30 bucks per month.... No more cable and high fees! I think I am going to gamble on monday and buy a few shares NFLX stock! Good luck.
If i pay 30 dollars to verizon each month for 12 mbps internet, why should they care where I got for my internet? They shouldn't get to say "all our paying customers go to your site, so give us money". In fact, if the only reason i get the net is for netflix, then verizon should be glad for netflix.
Imagine that tomorrow there is no Netflix or Amazon Prime or Hulu or others. Will people cancel their internet or not? I guess everyone will keep internet. Netflix now wants to take bread and butter from cable TV providers. Should COX and Comcast and others go down with no fight? The answer is clear they will do something about it, like streaming services fee to Netflix Hulu Amazon Prime YouTube and so on.
