He is now heavily invested and involved in Apple and the news yesterday indicated that Apple is now negotiating with Comcast; this was supposed to be the big new deal for Netflix, which now, based on Hasting's rant last week, seems to have disintegrated or degraded.
Icahns (the junior) also have a very big monetary incentive to get out before a crash.
It's not just old news, it's the writing-on-the-wall for Netflix.
