    ADP Purchase of Dealer Solutions

Word on the street is that ADP is buying Houston
based Dealer Solutions. This is typical of ADP's
inability to develop systems on their own. Dealer Soltuions
software is very rudimentary and will be years before it's
ready to compete with R&R and UCS. ADP can't build it
themselves - so they buy what they need and try to fit it
in. Unfortunately for ADP dealers, they will again
have to suffer through an unscheduled hardware and
software change to stay current with the ADP moving
    platform.

    • i'll be buying VTPI monday..wowwwwwwwwwww.35??????? how high can vtpi go??? $3-4.........

    • Read todays news and buy VTPI before the close.
You will get free shares of VTPI's spin off. VTPI
just signed contract with AUD so they have a
legitimate product that will earn major $$$ You have less
than one hour to buy VTPI to get the free spin off
      shares!

    • Heres an excerpt from the Tech section of our
newsletter that went out last night.

      We saw some
good moves in techland on Wed. and for the first part
      of today,
      which was encouraging. Unfortunately
we don't expect much for Friday. Since
      we don't
think there will be much strength, be careful here. If
      there are moves
they will probably be in the
smaller issues. SCAI is doing very well after their

split announcement, BRCM, TGNT, and SYBS look
attractive. GBLX got hit over their
      merger but should
reverse again soon. HWP is one of the few "big guys" that
      looks
      really good.

    • ADP acquires Dealer Solutions. Just as I predicted. Any questions??

    • although it's a nice thought to have the offer of
cheap prices every now and then, it's an even better
feeling to know that prices don't always go on a yoyo
diet. at www.bidz.com, there's always a consistency and
that to me, sells! prices are always reasonable,
products always great and customer service efficient!

    • Can you tell us the address of the site you referred to..

    • What you are saying is that the stock is moving
based on some information that only insiders
      have.

Seems to me that the insider knowledge isn't staying
inside. Maybe the SEC should take a look at the ADP
      insiders.

So what is it? Are you pretending to know
something that the rest of us don't, or are you leaking the
      info somewhere else?

      Seems fairly simple to me,
if the stock is moving based on something real, the
inside info is out and the insiders should be
questioned. If it's already out there, you may as well let
the AUD long faithfull know what's up.

      Knowing
us, we'll just sit there and watch
      anyway.

      Sincerely,
      Recent Long termer

    • Per the following PR you can see that Bell &
Howell, the premier APC vendor, is feed up with R&R and
is forming a relationship with ADP. Now I wonder why
they would do that if R&R is the vendor of the future?

ADP and Bell & Howell To Provide Full
      Integration

HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. and SKOKIE, Ill.--(BUSINESS
WIRE)--Feb. 4, 1999--The Dealer Services Group of Automatic
Data Processing, Inc. (NYSE: AUD - news) and Bell &
Howell (NYSE: BHW - news) announced today that the
companies will provide full integration between ADP dealer
management systems and Bell & Howell's ePAR electronic parts
      catalogs.

The companies will integrate Bell &
Howell's ePAR systems with the Elite(TM) dealer management
system on the Millennia3(TM) platform and the PC-based
      Alliance(TM) software.

      Both ADP's John Gray, Senior
Vice President of Development and Technology for the
Dealer Services Group, and Ted Fellowes, Bell & Howell's
Senior Vice President of Publishing Services, agree the
integration will substantially improve the dealers ability to
retrieve parts information -- ultimately saving both time
      and money.

``We're pleased to work with Bell
and Howell,'' Gray said. ``This parts catalog,
tightly integrated with ADP's leading dealer management
systems, will give our customers quick, one-step access to
      parts information.''

      ``Our customers have been
asking for this type of seamless integration,''
commented Ted Fellowes, Senior Vice president of Bell &
Howell's Publishing Services business. ``We are delighted
to work with ADP to be responsive to our market's
needs with a solution.'' ``This comprehensive solution
includes several ADP-designed data exchange enhancements
specifically for the ePAR systems,'' said Gray. ``These
improvements will ensure that users can access parts
information quickly and easily from the ADP applications.''

``When this level of integration is complete, dealers
will see an improved and more effective work flow
rather than islands of automation,'' Fellowes said.

    • I checked a site that shows time & sale info
yesterday. Everytime the price dropped, the volume spiked.
That's a pattern for a large accumulation underway.
Could be either a mutual fund or possibly a stock
      buyback by ADP.

    • Not one buyer in recent months. Only sellers. Makes me wonder if there is any real reason for the move. Any ideas ?
