    Check t his out

Article about the Iraq prison scandal that makes good sense - and mentions CCA.

His comments about the difference between law enforcement officers and correctional officers is spot on. I've been told that it is very difficult to hire former police officers to work in prisons - they have to be taught to totally rethink how they manage people, and most of them cannot make the adjustment.

    • Princessalouie I have to disagree with your statement for this article is focused upon military personnel not law enforcement personnel. It states peace keepers not law enforcers. There is a hugh difference between the two. NEOCC has an ex-military upper division supervisor. He has stood the test of time and so has the many other ex-law enforcement officers from Training Manager to K-9, to the floor officers. All companies and government postions are filled by the roll of the dice and with many hours of training we hope for the best possible outcome. I could only hope that CCA would bid and succeed on a contract with the military for management of their prisons like Iraq's Abu Ghraib, for then our entire country would shine with professionism.

    • princess - great article. Makes sense to me. Too bad Washington can't see the value of privates - both in Iraq, and across our country. It's coming - but slowly....
