Colorado prisoners at CCA's Olney Springs rioted last night, were said to have burned an entire unit, guards jumped off a 30' roof to escape, others locked themselves in administrative segregation units to which rioting cons gained access, but were left alone while cons were said to have freed other ad seg inmates. Cons used rebar, said to have lain around for months for weapons, and used aerosol cans as torches to ignite parts of the facility. "Shatterproof" glass was broken through to get to control areas, according to informants. Cons were said to be only two doors from escaping the facilty. Some prisoners were said to have been shot with birdshot. 1,000 cons (2/3rds of population) are expected to be removed to prisons unknown. Law enforcement from around the state was called in to suppress the riot. Some cons are from Wyoming and Washington state.
