Thanks for joining us with a glitteringly astute observation. It caused me to reminisce a bit:
I heard Doc say once, when questioned on why CCA bid a certain way (Miss or Ark), that "sometimes it's a matter of keeping the competition honest". That also could very well apply to the contracting agency, as you point out.
I also saw him cancel a low-margin, troubled facility contract because, in his words, "life's too short".
He has publicly stated over and over again that CCA/PZN will not compete on price or accept situations where standards have to be sacrificed.
It's interesting to note that someone on the WHC thread is questioning their declining operating margins. CCA had twice the net margins of any of the publicly traded companies.
But you knew all that - I mention it for those readers here who didn't.
