    PINK SLIP

Well it finally came i got my pink slip in the mail yesterday, unemployement here i come....or do i take the companys offer and move to another facility and wait till that one loses it contract.I'm not saying the company is not doing what they can, but all i see is these different contracts going everywhere else but here ( 1500 beds open as of today. So my question do i stay on this sinking ship with the stock in the SHITER that hinges on my retirement or do i go somewhere with stability?

      all us Sparks'es

    • ...Say, did you good 'ole Texas boys miss that chapter in the G.E.D. meeting where it gave the the correct usage of "to" "too" and "two"? Or, it that:
      (one) too New York City.
(two) to be ignorant is too cool.

And here's one for you too, aw0099/JACK...

A student made the comment to me today too,
      "Whatever, you old fart."

That got her a three day suspension for disrespect. Too bad, she must be reading your posts.

    • Department selects firm for new private prison contract

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - The state has chosen a Utah company to operate a privately run prison
      in northeast Ohio.

Management and Training Corporation of Ogden, Utah, was the preferred bidder to operate the
North Coast Correctional Treatment Facility, a 552-bed minimum-security prison in Grafton, the
Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction said Tuesday.

MTC also operates the state's other privately run prison, Lake Erie Correctional Institution in
Conneaut. MTC's bid was chosen over bids by four other companies.

The prisons department will ask the state controlling board to approve a contract with MTC. The
amount of the proposed contract will be made public once it goes to the controlling board later this
      week, spokeswoman Andrea Dean said.

If approved, MTC will replace CiviGenics Corp., whose $14.8 million, 21-month contract ends
June 30. The state chose not to renew the Marlboro, Mass.-based company's contract because of
increasing reports of problems at the prison.

There were five different wardens at the prison over 18 months. The facility also housed violent
offenders at one point when it was supposed to accept only inmates convicted of nonviolent drug
and alcohol offenses. The state also accused CiviGenics of not meeting minimum staffing levels.

Grafton and Conneaut are Ohio's only state-owned, privately run prisons.

Public employees unions, which run the state's other prisons, have complained the private operators
do not run the prisons as efficiently as state employees do.

Rep. John Willamowski, a Lima Republican, has introduced a bill in the GOP-controlled House that
would bar private companies from running any Ohio prison.

    • There you go again with that anger problem. You really need to get some help for that. If you dont youll end up abusing your wife your kids anyone just like you try verbally abusing people on here who disagree with you. Ive had enough. Besides you bore me. Your to easy to insult and to uninformed to learn anything from except vulgarity and misdirected anger. Bye

    • Are you the guy that held his hand when they operated on his big toe? He's obviously been feeding you some of his nutmeg since then. When you get your head from between his thighs, take a more realistic view of the world.

    • Damn you sound bitter. What did he do fire you or maybe didnt give you the promotion you undoubtably deserved? Or maybe you just hate to see someone else get ahead. Oh your wrong I know exactly what happened, call it an inside seat if you will. Anyway your wrong. Some people are not looking for someone else to blame for their own short comings. NEOCC needed just what Jim Turner brought and most feel like there much better at corrections for having worked under him. Dont know about your experience but thats what happened in Ohio. And about that anger problem maybe you need to seek some counciling. Its really ok to disagree without hateing the other guy. I know this really good Doc in Youngstown might be able to help you. Ah probably not. You sound like you enjoy how you feel. Sorry I couldnt agree with your opinions. Oh well you know what they say about opinions. Or do you?

    • Hey also instead of crying over the pink slip you should also be involved with your co-workers and get your local politicians off their assess to start earning their pay and get busy trying to work with the company to avoid losing all those jobs. If those jobs are at risk. There is a possibility that you will get a Fed contract or Idaho. Either way you have a contract. Also Brian Gardner needs to realize that he needs to rally his staff and be more reasurring that he and the company are doing everything they can to get a contract. You need to realize that you have to make the local politicians aware that, yes; you are a for profit corporation, you answer to the stockholders, but ultimately; you are responsible for safety and security of the community that your in. He is no Jimmy Turner he can't even fill his shorts, but he needs to be more ascertive and aggressive and overall reach out to his staff and try to work together to maintain the so-called flagship of the corporation. Morale for what I can tell in the message boards and chat rooms is dangerously low. Low to the point of a possible incident, but since staff are also irresponsible by not being professionals an continue to do their job 100% the risk is there. I hear through channels that staff at your facility are trying to get the so called teamsters union out. Teamsters have a history of taking money and screwing the rank and file throughout their history they have done it. that clause of layoff by date of promotion...that is ridiculous! Only an idiot could have negotiated that OR SOMEONE on your negotiating team with their own personal agenda either way if it were here they would be gone.....Good LUCK NEOCC STAFF DO NOT DIE WITHOUT A FIGHT AND MAKE IT A LONG AND HARD ONE. I do not prey , but I will lite a candle for all you folks. Good Luck

    • CXW has 60+ good contracts. If you choose to leave that is a call you will have to make. The are some good jobs out there, if you want one and you have a good job performance rating from your Warden. You can go to work Monday morning. If you choose not to then I wish you the best of luck.
