I understand from your recent post that you would like more money to invest in ITIC for the long-term.
I could lend you some money but I do have my requirements in terms of interest rates and collateral.
You could make me an offer. Think BIG, VERY BIG in terms of my returns and security. I would expect to be paid as well as a hedge fund manager (think 15% annual interest and 20% of any pre-tax profits you make. I would, however, prefer to be paid like a large company CEO. (You know $50,000,000 to $100,000,000 per year).
Then, in terms of security, think about your house, cars, boats, airplanes, stock certificates (BRKA, BRKB or ITIC only) and well behaved, mature children. I will not accept furniture, lawnmowers, bowling balls, wives, cats or goldfish.
I hereby retract my suggestion that you make me an offer to borrow money to buy ITIC.
There are several problems. I imagine that your children, like all those in Lake Woebegone, are above average. Nevertheless, I am concerned about their market value if you failed to make payment when due. I don't even know where you can get a quote on children. Is there an internet site "kidsforsale.com"?
If so, I bet the spread between the bid and the asked is a killer.
And besides using kids for collateral or selling them is probably not "politically correct. What would Ted Kennedy, Pat Leahy and Jesse Jackson say. I expect the media would have a field day.
