pmlljl,
ANAT closed at $110.00 today. Perhaps the bear can scare someone into selling to you at $105 or better.
pj:
That ol bar sounds as confused as I am. I am a bit shellshocked by the decline in BRKB which is down about 25% from its highs. I am even more perplexed by the markets interest in the airlines and the terrible financial stocks that have lost so much of their shareholders money.
I thought it was interesting to look at PFB (now PFFB.OB) and DSL in Valueline. It shows them with increasing earnings, dividends and rising book values for many years right up until they self destructed like so many of the financials. Their business worked great until the world changed regarding credit and housing and then it didn't work anymore. Can you say paradigm shift?
pmlljl,
He decided that $30 is less than $90 and canceled his order. I wonder sometimes whether he should be tested for bull DNA.
pmlljl,
The bear raised his ANAT bid back to $90.
pj:
I had already read the news about ANAT. I have cancelled my order and am thinking about re-entering it on December 31, 2008 at $30.
I have now reverted to the idea that the credit crunch and the decline in housing will erode for a millenium.
I am thinking about having a DNA test to see if I have somehow acquired some bear DNA.
pmlljl,
Tornadoes blew away ANAT's 2nd-quarter profit: http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/080728/lam069.html?.v=101
The bear's new GTC buy order limit will be somewhere between $84.99 and $85.01.
pmlljl,
So you and the bear are both bidding 90! Great minds think alike.
pmlljl,
ANAT closed below $105 today. The bear was trying to catch some at $103.75 in the last hour. He was no more successful at that than he is at salmon fishing. (That is why he eats penguins. They are slow.)
pj:
I wrote for and have now received a copy of ANAT's annual report. I am about half way through reading it. It looks pretty good but Mr. Moody gets a bigger paycheck than Mr. Fine.
The thing that bothers me the most is the continued weakness in financial stocks generally. I am not sure ANAT can make much headway in this environment, so I am not in a hurry to buy it. I will continue to watch it.
pj:
I think I would be interested at $105.
pmlljl,
That bear snuck off and bought ANAT at 108.00 today! I see that it closed below $105. There could be an opportunity...
