I am "living" on dividends and seeing my SS has NOT increased in two years, I am hoping for increases in my dividends. Do you think POM will increase payout this year?
POM is under intensive fire for flubbing the snow of last week. It took much of four days for most of Montgomery County get back on power, myself among them. Stock dividends and high executive salaries prevent capital improvements. Somethings's got to go and it could be a cut in dividends next time around; management won't take any cuts, you can be sure of that.
I am sorry about your situation.
This co may need to cut the dividend. They are paying out too much now. You may want to look at CPK. They are a Gas utility in DE & FL that has increased its dividend many times over the last 50 years. Good balance sheets also.

Wells Fargo (NYSE:WFC) Securities
August 24th 2010
The broker said it hasn’t changed its underlying belief that a sharpened focus on the regulated business will bear fruit over time for Pepco. Wells Fargo added that it believes the group’s dividend, which currently provides a yield of 6%, remains secure and could begin to grow in 2014. –MarketWatch
Company is going to make about $1.09 and gives $1.08 as dividend. There is no chance of dividend increase for the next two years. It is difficult to get rate increase with the soft economy; lots of shopping center, business closing and including residential bankruptcies create unexpected losses.
