Sadly, joani, when you realize how few votes are in play in the middle, I do believe that Obama will be successfully swift-boated. With his off-center religious affiliation, and his middle name, there will be enough erosion of support to prevent him from being president. I am not saying it should happen, only that it will.
The best we can hope for from him, in the interim, is to win enough convention delegates to prevent Hillary from getting the nomination. It is in the best interests of the nation that the Presidency not be controlled by two families for 28 years. Only with a new president from a new part of America can we hope to set aside the animus that has riven the nation's politics since 1992.
I am hoping for a deadlocked Democratic Convention, and a dark horse candidate who comes to the fore to win the nomination.
