ACRX and INSM - similarity in new offerings

Of interest, ACRX (which I am long) announced yesterday afternoon a 15% or 3.8M share offering at $11.65 - yet shockingly they closed yesterday at $12.13 or so. They have also have passed 3, count them three, PIII trials for three indications with their drug in the past 6 months.

Getting money at the right stage is just good business.

    • Seems very likely with ACRX up 5% and 1.7M shares sold already today, that their new 3.8M share offering is more or less already snapped up yesterday and today at higher than offering price as investors and institutions who didn't get any shares in the offering get aboard for the ride higher. INSM seems to be following the same trend with the ~6M shares offered either already accounted for by major institutions or snapped up within next few days.

    • Note that ACRX is also up again an additional 3-5% today already within first couple hours. The newly offered shares, quite possibly like with INSM, may already mostly or all be spoken for, and with great analyst ratings and lots of money in the bank to get past FDA approval, the projected long term stock value is actually raised.
