    Shorting question

I'm sure by now that most of you know I have no idea how shorting really works....except for the basics. So, I noticed that the next Settlement date for short positions is next Monday, the 30th. Could some of the share price appreciation the last couple days and today come from closing out short positions? And, if so, could there be a trend cycle with each period settlement?

    Thanks

    • Yes and no as any adjustments for shorts are balanced by adjustments for the longs. A better thought might be is this due to the speach Lewis is making Tuesday. Some buy on anticipation of good news and some are buying on this wave, and will sell Monday. There are so many cross currents its best to trade, if thats your style, or buy and hold, if thats your style and let the rest take care of itself. Of course then there is me, I buy and hold and trade through options depending on the phase of the moon and tossing chicken bones. :)
Long term this is a strong buy. Day by day its a buy or a sell. Watch them bones. Oh news trumps all else, if tomorrow its reported people are dropping dead taking INSM drugs its no longer a buy :( I'm wise no. No!

      Sentiment: Strong Buy
