I've used it sine 1996 so I have you beat :) Actually I just use their webmail though, they ruined their client software with all the popup screens, the client software was pretty cool back when it was version 6 or 7, whoever created those 8 and 9 versions must have thought that users loved having popups all over their screen, as if they don't know how to find google to search on their own. lol I do like their webmail though, still the best features and spam filter by far compared to the other webmails.
I’ve used AOL since ‘99. I currently use it’s “Desktop” edition. It’s a shame a once great property has gone into an absolute tailspin. Perhaps a spin-off and it’s own management team is what AOL needs to salvage itself. And you’re right, my AOL address does have sort of a retro quality about it.
