I'm almost in the money guy with a larger bet than I started with. I'd call that great trading! I have never been good at instantly making profits the second after I buy or short and then picking the top and bottom accordingly on that play. I am too simple to be able to do that.
It is funny you say that. I personally use these boards to "check myself". I post my trades and value the feedback / hating / cheering what have you. When you are wrong it is a good mechanism to have you check your bet and come to terms with it.
Most people exaggerate their wins and forget their losses. These boards I have found to provide me a great risk management tool. I am also public about my trades to friends and colleagues.
And when you make money off these public decisions, over time your credibility is built. No need to convince people you know what you are doing and waste time talking - numbers speak for themselves. Unlike analysts who get paid to prognosticate with no risk what-so-ever to their calls! Almost comical how Wall Street has adopted that model.
