Restaurant Report Card.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Steak 'n Shake on Regency Square Boulevard is usually open 24 hours every day. But for nearly 24 hours earlier this month, it was closed because of roaches.
According to a recent report, inspectors found 25 live roaches around the water heater, 20 more on cleaning equipment, and 10 scurrying around under the waiter preparation area.
Channel 4 went to try and get to the bottom of the pest problems. The on-site manager asked Channel 4's Melanie Lawson to leave and explained he wasn't authorized to speak to the media.
Instead he gave Channel 4 a phone number to the Media Relations Department at the restaurant's corporate office. Channel 4 left three messages for Steak 'n Shake executives over nearly 48 hours, but never got a call back.

WJXT was eventually told the media contact was out of town and that there was no one else to answer any questions.
