So, does Roundrobinjack or mathanalyst or any of the other mavens of this stock & BB have an estimate as to what next month's payout might be? My guess is $1.75/share, but you guys always seem more knowledgeable. And despite some exasperated investors on this page, I ain't sellin'!
The third quarter 2013 distribution should be higher than the 2012 distribution. In 2012, the production was about 395,000 bbls/day and the average price for WTI was approximately $92/bbl. The distribution was $1.826/unit. A year later the production has averaged about 40,000 bbls/day higher than the third quarter of 2012. In addition, the average price for WTI from July to September has been about $106/bbl. The distribution should be in the $2.00 to $2.10 range; which is slightly lower than the July distribution. I base this on a reduced daily production of about 25,000/bbls/day, but a higher WTI by about $13/bbl. The higher price should help offset the drop in production. This should keep BPT yielding about 9.5% to 10.0%.
I would be interested to hear other projections from credible sources.
Uh, I hope it's not just wishful thinking making you say that. Next month's scheduled payout is usually the lowest of the year as the pipeline operator periodically shuts down the system over the summer while they perform inspections and any needed maintenance. After losing X days of production while this goes on, it almost always reflects in the October disbursal which in the past is usually less than any other--if nothing seriously wrong has been found.
