Alaska to provide $5.75B for LNG export project. Alaska plans to jump-start a $45B natural gas export project by pitching in more than 10% of the cost and joining Exxon Mobil (XOM), BP (BP), ConocoPhillips (COP) and TransCanada (TRP) as an equity partner. Alaska would take up to a 25% stake in a proposed gas processing plant, an 800-mile pipeline from the North Slope and a liquefaction facility in the Kenai Peninsula. The state would pay as much #$%$75B for its share of the $23B liquefaction facility.
correct, and a NG pipeline would hurt BPT as the NG is currently re-injected to maintain reservoir pressure. If they did pipe out the NG then BPT production would decline more rapidly.
However we have heard stories about a pipeline for years and it has never come to anything. And even if they are serious then getting all approvals and doing the construction will take years, so I don't think we need worry.
