Has there ever been a more misundertood investment?
No dividend, not a stock, no exhaustion of field. Not necessarily high yield. No growth. Heading unalterably toward zero.
All is dependent on the future price of WTI. The hooker is the escalating scheduled cost of production (written in stone, per the prospectus) inflated by the CPI, which is charged against price to determine payout.
Misunderstood, but not necessarily a bad investment, for what it is an an excellent one at the right price.
No disrespect, but if you can't afford to do your homework, look elsewhere.
The old Greek dude is right. This is not like any other "thing" you can buy. What he says about heading to zero is correct. You may never see all of your investment again. On the flip side, it is rewarding some very well now.
