Where else could she do better than income coming off of DEP,EPD and ETP. She could turn over the companies to a board of directors, a strong CPA firm, and a few hand picked lawyers. That way she could golf, go sailing, whatever. She could have a meeting once a month, preferably on a wednesday, with the above group. Not a bad life. She would give me 1000 shares of EPD for coming up with this idea
My understanding is that she was left holding all these assets with no estate taxes. I don't think she wants to be burdened by the ownership headaches and decisions she will be faced with in the future. I anticipate her selling her holdings. Her tax basis should be based on what the fair market value was at the time of her taking possession.
Lucky---Re: Buy-out--Hard to say-the largest individual holder of ETE is Randa Duncan--Ironically she is ALSO the largest ind. holder of EPD (Enterprise Products)--She agreed to the buy-out of ETE by EPD--Why not with Energy Transfer??--It appears the largest holders of ETE, ETP and EPD are pretty much the same group w/ Goldman also a part of EPD. I suspect tax ? and voting control are significant issues to this group and we are not privy to such info. friendlytrader
