Hans Westberg said at Mobile Wordl Coingress Barcelona that he is aiming for 50 million "attached units" by 2020. Here is his text (in Swedish)
Han upprepade bolagets antaganden vad gäller abonnent-tillväxten i näten de kommande åren. Bolaget tror fortsatt på 50 miljarder uppkopplade enheter år 2020.
Translation: He repeated his assumptions for subscriber growth in the network in the coming years. The company still believes in 50 billion connected units by 2020.
"50 milliarder" is 50 billion . But the population of the earth is only 7 billion. So the copmpany is believoing in 7 mobile susbscriptions per man, woman and child???
Heck, I am long Ericsson, but this number makes me wonder about their assumptions!
Echos of Cisco 2000?
Hans Westberg's prediction is reminiscent of Cisco at the beginning of 2000, whose shareprice seemed to be predicated on its revenue reaching about 25% of world GDP/GNP
Ericsson's revenue is fine, but its net profit of 2.5% needs to be drastically improved.
I will sell at 82 kronor.
