    Apparently you CLOWNS ....

... have never read a prospectus on APU. Nor do you clowns have any idea what you are talkin about.

Firstly, from what I understand APU is the largest distributor of Propane and Propane tanks in the US.

FROM AMERIGAS web site: "AmeriGas is America's Propane Company. As the nation's largest and most recognized propane marketer and distributor, AmeriGas delivers the experience and expertise you can depend on. AmeriGas has over 600 company-owned propane distribution centers in 46 states that service approximately 18,000 retail locations across the nation!"

Secondly, APU profits in a big way from installing brand new $1.50 valves on propane tanks and charging it's distributors $12. The distributor charges the customer $15 and everyone makes out except the end-user.

Those 600 distribution points are raping the retail outlets and the propane consumers.

Thirdly, I don't care if it is the American Propane Union of Thieves or the NAACP, requiring a new valve two years in a row is highway robbery and it generates huge profits for APU. The first change two years ago was a new valve that accomodated both inside and outside threads. That was a scam by APU to generate income and it worked well. CHARGE $15. Gas station makes $1 - $3 and the distributor makes about $10 or so.

The second change (mandated) was a new valve that keeps the tank from being over-filled. Again the same scenario. APU charges $12 to the retail outles, the retail outlet charges the end-user $15. Once again APU makes out like a champ.

I just don't see APU continuing to come up with quick scam profit makers in the next year. Watch your retail service center for a new scam next summer. If no new valves are needed and no secret charges for swapping tanks then you can expect to see APU profits sink. Additionally, legislation is making it's way through many cities that forces apartment and condominium owners to remove propane grills from porches. It is being pushed ahead by insurance companies and municipal fire departments.
