Its the entire market........ it is tanking. Until we get through all this economic stuff and sub-prime mess, we are going to have a tough road. Hang in collect your dividend and wait for good times again. It might be 1 year or 10 years.....who knows.
I'm thinking the market is figuring with raw propane costs going up and recession in the air, that APU wouldn't do as well in 2008 and pushing it down in price.
A couple months ago I bought a longer term oriented portfolio that had KMP and PGH in it with APU (and a few other bond related investments) figuring that APU would tend to be hedged by KMP and PGH (and visa versa) since PGH makes its money at the source of oil and gas, KMP makes its money on the transportation via pipelines, and APU is selling the end product at the retail level.
So far my drop in APU has been offset by my gains in KMP and PGH lately, so I guess my hedging idea is working OK and in the mean time I'm making nice money on the cash distributions.
In time APU will hit a level where the market won't sell it down any more and we all have some extra cash, it will likely be a good time to add a few shares to what we have. Just have to be patient for now.
