I just returned from a Walmart (had not been to one in three years), and noticed that AmeriGas does the backyard tanks and exchange program. . .are they at all Walmarts? This is pretty big business. . .Perhaps I am like George Bush the First, who was amazed at scanners at grocery stores. . .I admit to being an upmarket shopper. . .the only reason I went to Walmart was to get some motor oil for my Vette which was on a big sale. . .picked up some cat litter too. . .actually (off topic) the prices are not that much less than Target, so why bother driving the extra miles here in San Diego.
Here in central Kentucky, Amerigas handles the propane tank/bottle exchange, and I have put in zip codes for several other regions, and yes, they seem to be hooked up with Wal-mart pretty much nationwide, or at least all of their market states. I am embarrassed at myself for not knowing this, I go to Walmart often enough but simply had not payed attention. I did know APU handled the propane bottle exchanges at almost all of our local convenience stores (Hardin County KY)
