Yeah, all the smart guys see the cold winter and think the sales will be down.
But the big deal here that got me to buy more at 40, was that the cost of buying wholesame propane is down and dropping and the retail price is barely budging. So, the gross margins are exploding, due to I think to all the LPG that needs to be squeezed out of the Shale Gas being brought to production.
Until the chemical industry gets geared up to turn all the excess C3 into platstics, the margins on propane sale are going to be big and getting bigger. I think we get some positive conformation of this trend at the next earnings.
assuming you are right and margins will be up ... wont matter... extremely record warm winter here in pa... volumes will be way way down... in regards to the insider buying.... 4000 shares really aint that much for someone who makes over a million a year... and if you look back he also bought 2000 shares in mid march 2011 and 2000 shares in mid march 2010.... my assumption is these purchases have something to do with his tax return or his bonus structure... dont get me wrong I'm an amirigas fan... currently out of position waiting for disappointing may earnings and then jumping back in... most marches its cold and sometimes snowing here... it was 80 this weekend
