Aldi is a German company that has been around for many years. Yes, they do sell at a discount. If you have ever been a a canning factory, or any other factory that manufactures food, and see the process, you would know that as the finished product comes down the line, all they do many times is change the label the cans go over. It is the same product as the big name label, except, the store has a contract with the processor for X number of cases or carloads of that item. This makes business for the processor over and above the brand name.
