They are only testing it in 100 locations right now. Pretty early to tell but it could be a decent idea. Ice is a different beast - requires freezers at the locations and another layer of resupply - who manufactures and distributes the ice? If the same contractors used for the water exchange operation can make and supply the ice so much the better. Who knows - seems like more competition as well and they would need to displace current ice suppliers. Most everywhere I go you can always get ice but the bottled water exchange/refill operation is pretty unique. They just add a more economical and efficient way to get pure water and avoid the recycling issues from buying plastic throw-away bottles.
