    NEW YORK, April 27 (Reuters) - Corporate bankruptcy is likely to be a less time-consuming process because of the growth in hedge funds and other nontraditional lenders, one restructuring expert told a New York conference this week.

    Hedge funds, which are increasingly buying into various levels of a distressed company's capital structure, are supplanting major investment banks in controlling the course of restructurings, according to Kenneth Buckfire, managing director of Miller Buckfire & Co., which is advising bankrupt companies including Calpine Corp.
