Joe's opens store number 32 - Santa Clara 1500 square feet Boutique

    Eleventh store in California
    Thirteen Retail Boutique
Number 32 between retail and outlet stores
Does anyone forsee Joe's including the Hudson line within these stores? I don't see a problem with it.

Yes u are correct. My girlfriend works high up at joes and they are keeping the companies totally separate. The final deal wil close aug 31. When that happens they will be a slight run up. Let price jeep dropping then buy. I'm buy 70k next week.

    • With the path that these retail stores are on unless they get a marijuana license nothing's going to save them.

    • They specifically stated they will keep the brands distinctly separate for the forseeable future thus they will NOT combine the two brands in a Joe's store. They each have distinct attributes that appeal to distinct target market groups and they intend to maintain that. The key benefits from the acquisition are cost savings from buying in greater quantities, "co-sharing" market information and ideas, new market opportunities where one entity may not have previously had a presence, etc. It seems Hudson is quite successful in their segment as Joe's is in theirs and the combined company should be able to grow nicely and more profitably. I see Hudson cash flow as being able to fund the entire debt service of the acquisition plus add incremental earnings to the combined business (based on management comments that the acquisition will roughly double all metrics - sales, EBITDA etc). Very cheap stock at a fraction of revenues and growing nicely. Key holiday season quarters coming up - Joe's should show good sales comps with the new retail stores coming into their own. Good buying opportunity here.

      • Ddbikes, one of the most thoughtful and informative posts I read in a while. Thank you for your input. I'm buying as much as possible. I know it won't stay at these bargain prices forever. Good luck to you and all longs. Dean

      • Thanks for the reminder of what was said on the conference call. It seems to me that this was a smart business decision and I feel the stock price will reflect that it is. I'm looking forward to the closing of the Hudson Clothing acquisition so that we'll see how the numbers shake out. A doubling of all metrics is fine with me, especially as you stated that the cash flow from Hudson sales will fund the debt service. Everything else should fall into place quite nicely, and still allow for execution of additional store openings which only helps to bring more brand awareness.

    • No, they will keep the brands separate. Although I like the fact that Hudson is currently strictly wholesale, I wonder if they would consider taking some of their underperforming Joe's stores and turning them into Hudson stores. Just a thought. If you're stuck with a lease, something to try. It's not like they'd be creating new expenses, it would be same lease, same payroll, new brand.

    • My understanding from the CC was that there was going to be a separation of the brands in efforts to reduce risk of any least for now.

      • Hi Rp, you should come around more often. I think we're only hearing part of the story. Since the earnout, I've done a fair amount of reading, if I could even find anything. I felt something was in the
wind with that earnout news and we were only hearing part of the story then.Joe's is very good at hiding what they don't want you to know. IMO this is all connected and there is more to come. I have a theory about what is going on and have been waiting to see if anyone else has one, but I haven't seen anything posted by anyone.
