Why would TCX often open lower than previous days close?

I'm a stock market novice, so please forgive me if this is a dumb question. I've been following TCX for about a month now and I've noticed that on many occasions the opening price of the stock is significantly lower than the previous days close. It's happened at least 5 times during the past two weeks. If no one is buying or selling after the market close and no one is buying or selling before the market opens, why would the market specialist lower the opening price? A few days ago the opening price was more than 7% below the previous days close on absolutely no news. I've only noticed two times during the past month when TCX has opened higher than the previous days close. The first time was about 10 days ago, on no news. The other was the day the company announced that there would be another buy-back of shares. I can't see any legitimate reason why the tendency is to open this stock lower than the previous days close. Am I missing something? Thank you.
