Sorry I've been away for a while. The events of Sept. 11 put a few things in perspective for me, including the importance of posting on stock boards. So I've just been reading lately, looking for something interesting on which to post. And I finally found it.
Parker's rules. Bill's is a distant second. I used to go around back at Parker's, to the takeout window, and get their great fried chicken (breast and wing), corn sticks (does anywhere west of Wilson sell corn sticks?), and a big tea, all for $3!
If BB&T could run a bank like Parker's runs a barbecue restaurant, they would dominate the banking business by now.
I'm assuming all references to Parkers (which does have the best fried oysters anywhere) was based on experience prior to hurricane Floyd which flooded Bill out. However he changed to an outstanding buffet in a new building with his old menu available on a takeout basis. You've got to try it if you come through Wilson - just a mile off old 301 on Forest Hills Road. And Bill did get his start at Parkers. He has a completely vertically integrated operation with a fleet of trucks (some 18 wheelers) and caters all over the country such as Indianapolis 500.
