Following the AmSouth/Regions merger, Reuters is citing BB&T as a potential target along with SunTrust, and Sovereign. Wells Fargo, Citibank and Wamu are potential acquirers. I believe the big event is getting closer!

A buyout of BB&T by a strong major bank would be a great benefit to long-term stock holders. Why do you (and some others) always respond to inquiries of possible mergers with "BB&T is not for sale!!!!!!!!!"?
