Never thought you were the "sharpest knife in the drawer" but am on your team right now. Employees are the heart of a company. Local BB&T employees are not happy that Kelly King got a 100% increased pay package while they got less than 5%. How does Kelly explain that to his people??? Bad economy will take BB&T much lower!!
Markets have a way of exposing and weeding out bad management and poorly performing corporations. Just take a look at synovus. Bbt is not far behind. It's a fact that this company can't deliver on it's own. Acquisition is it's only means of growth but bbt has already grow past the level of competence needed to sustain that strategy. So don't kid yourself. It will be acquired in 5 yrs or so. Besides....it's how ceo's are compensated......particularly in banking. It's a dirty business but someone has to claw, lie, steal, politic and manipulate their way to the top so they can stick it to employees and shareholders. Just remember kings increased pay package and the fact that rank and file employees get little to nothing. Do you really believe he won't sell this turd to someone when it means a huge payout to him in terms of stock and change of control provisions etc etc.
Ayscuew: The old saying of "do as I say, not as I do" comes to mind. Honestly, you really can't blame KK for his pay package. The Board approved it and not many shareholders seemed to have had a problem with it given the fact that Management's slate of directors were overwhelmingly re-elected at the April, 2011 Shareholders'meeting.
