    Dividend

tenncpa: Perhaps if it were up to the CEO and Board that would be the case; however, dividend payments are now subject to preapproval by the Federal Reserve. Maybe that will change sometime in the future but I am not counting on it happening anytime soon.

    • You are so right, Tyrone. If a bank wanted to raise their dividend $1.00, they couldn't with getting approval from the Fed. For some reason, the Fed is penalizing all banks and not letting them make decisions that would benefit their shareholders. The Fed would rather the bank hoard their money and pay huge salaries instead of rewarding shareholders. If banks were allowe to get back to their regular dividends, then the shareholders would begin spending money again and the economy would pick up. They are so stupid.
