Kelly King said on CNBC Thursday that they hope to raise the dividend in the Spring (government permitting). I'm guessing 75 cents (up 11 cents). That's a whopping 17% increase. Will make good headlines. Anyone remember what the dividend was 4 years ago???
.47 cents
That .47 cent is per quarter .
What irks me is how stingy corporations are with dividends. Stock holders are the owners and their returns are a pitance. B of D's and upper mgt get very healthy increases from the profits but the owners get almost nothing. It is time for stock holders from all corporations to wake up and take steps to insure they get a fair share of the profits.
As some one said, "Fair is fair".
I remember $1.92 per share just about the time just about the time management before King spoke about his intention to keep the dividend as he knew how much it meant to shareholders. He then bailed out with his fat pension.
I bailed out too. Sold at $28 on the way down. I liked this bank but I'll never go back. We were deceived to believe the dividend was safe!
That may be a bit optimistic.
If the B of D's can keep increasing upper mgt's benefits during hard times there is NO reason that dividends cannot be increased.
The Good Book teaches, 'Fair is Fair'.
No change - .16
You are correct. As the owners of the company our dividend does not go up, but upper mgt gets increased benefits.
Fair is not Fair.
