Kelly King said on CNBC Thursday that they hope to raise the dividend in the Spring (government permitting). I'm guessing 75 cents (up 11 cents). That's a whopping 17% increase. Will make good headlines. Anyone remember what the dividend was 4 years ago???
I remember $1.92 per share just about the time just about the time management before King spoke about his intention to keep the dividend as he knew how much it meant to shareholders. He then bailed out with his fat pension.
What irks me is how stingy corporations are with dividends. Stock holders are the owners and their returns are a pitance. B of D's and upper mgt get very healthy increases from the profits but the owners get almost nothing. It is time for stock holders from all corporations to wake up and take steps to insure they get a fair share of the profits. As some one said, "Fair is fair".
