Portfolio insurance kicked the computers (using the quants' programs) into super action in the 1987 crash. The day after the crash we saw one of the strongest market corrections ever.
The items I listed in my first post would, IMHO, trigger computer generated sell programs which have any earnings disappointment set as in initiating event.. We have seen those before.
No, I do not claim to know what will happen tomorrow, or next week, but I do know today is an aberration on steroids. There could be some factor not yet revealed that some hard working researchers uncovered and will share with us in the fullness of time.
Absent such a revelation I would/do expect a very sharp correction of the panic(?) we saw today.
I DO wish I had the kind of money to buy in the over night markets.Sentiment: Strong Buy

Which idiots said, "bin Laden is dead, terrorism is over".
Looks like the Iranian terrorists are still at work. Reports say it is Iranian hackers, terrorists, that have hacked into BBT internet service.
Time to get new leaders, maybe we can get the terrorists under some kind of wrap.
