As a very long time holder of BBT stock, you can be assured that the B of D's will take care of upper mgt amd them selves first. Personally I cannot see paying employees such a bundle when the owners, in this case stock holders only get a pittance of the company's profits.
Stock holders just sit back and let the board do as they please.
Here is where the rub comes in. Who has the biggest hand in the selection of Board members? Upper mgt. Who has the biggest hand in appointing upper mgt? Board of Directors. Can you see a problem? Something called collusion.
