Nice to see someone "ring the bell". Good call on Pioneer. CNIT has been long rumored to be a takover candidate. However, Mid-Atlantic Investors (the group pushing for the sale of the thrift) recently agreed to withdraw their shareholder ballot initiative and things have settled down. You may want to look at another thrift in the coastal VA area by the name of First Coastal (just changed the holdin company name from VABF - Virginia Beach Federal - to first coastal. It is run by some true commercial bankers that have done some good things. CNIT has a bad rep with the folks at BB&T (they looked at the bank a while back and were basically rebuffed). I do like the Maryland thrift mentioned. I think BB&T tries to grow in VA and MD, unless other ops come along.
