First, allow me to say that I've been long ONCS for over a year. However, I've noticed a very scary technical pattern that has developed since mid/late April. For anyone who pays attention to technical analysis, notice the clear-as-day "head and shoulders" pattern that has developed. H&S patterns are usually bearish, especially when they're found within an uptrend like we've been experiencing. Now, most of us know that technicals are not always right, but they certainly should not be ignored.
Also, did you guys notice that ONCS is now only releasing data on one trial in mid-July? The two other sets of trial results have been pushed back until mid-August. How will the investment community respond to this?
Although I'm still in for the long haul, I'm worried that both of these issues are going to cause some significant damage to share prices in the short term.
I'm not trying to scare anyone, rather, I'm looking for others who can share their knowledge and experience regarding this information. Thank you.
Yes, you do make good points tag that the release of data for two of the trials has been pushed back. You have to remember though that when the original dates were announced, they did say that those dates were subject to change. Yes it is is disappointing, but not totally unexpected. I will say however, that for the time being at least, the interim Melanoma results are still scheduled for mid-end of July. IMHO the Melanoma trial results are the most important of the three since it affects more people than the other two
First off, I am usually a HARDCORE technical trader with all my stocks(I came from FOREX background). While technicals usually play a large role in most stocks, I don't think the same can be said about microcaps. The large swings and massive volatility is just too much...
As for pushing back trial dates, I'm sure this is usual growing pains for a bio-tech firm and could delay PPS action...
So you are most likely right about "damage to share prices in the short term"...though I'm not sure how significant it will be..
