I congratulate you on your name-calling. Your mother would be proud.

All I can say is that you are painting a broad brush over hundreds of thousands based on a few bad eggs. To see what true Christianity is about, you need to look at the missionaries who are martyred trying to build better water systems in 3rd world countries. It's amazing that you (and the media) choose to focus on the occasional wacko and not the many who because of their faith participate in things like habitat for humanity and other worthy causes that serve humankind - regardless of what those being served believe.

I also find it frustrating when people mistake "becoming involved in politics" with "forcing a belief system on others". How do you see our President as forcing his beliefs on others? He has the control of the executive branch, yet he has not commanded police officers to shut down abortion clinics. He may be trying to cause change to align with his ideals, but he is doing it through the normal channels just like you and I would do.

Yes, please do provide examples where churches are forcibly converting people via economic means - I know of none.

    • I paint with no wide brush. I never said all Christians are evil. You asked "When was the last time a Christian threatened to convert someone by force?" and I gave an example, merely pointing out that fundamentalism exists in all religions. Maybe it's you who paints with a wide brush about Islam?

"normal channels" in the good old american way of buying votes? The Christian Coalition pours more cash into Washington lobbying than any other citizen group. And make no mistake about it, Christian groups buying votes in government is EXACTLY forcing a belief system on others. Even if it is by "normal channels just like you and I would do" except that I dont have 100's of millions of dollars to tell congress to keep religion out of my government. As for GW, dont think for a milisecond that if he COULD, he would shut down every abortion clinic in the world. His Christian idealistic beliefs should be left at home if he's to run this country.
