"...The toy retailer is hiring Lehman to explore "a broad range of potential strategic alternatives to enhance long-term shareholder value," but you know how it goes. That "broad range" of possibilities eventually gets narrowed down to a fire sale mandate."
Any article that talks about bears from BBW being expensive (as this does) instantly hits my trash bin. Obvious GIGO situation. (Sure you can do an apples-to-apple-cores comparison that looks that way, but vs quality product, the're low-to-comparable)
On the other hand, nobody seems to be talking about the way BBW seems to have turned plush animals into dolls, which costs tham half their potential market.
I think private equity could make this company sing.
I agree that they are not overpriced. You get what you pay for in any product. I'm sure that people can go to the dollar stores and find something satisfactory. Some people can't get past price and never see the quality.
There ARE people more negative about this stock than I have been. Hey, I stupidly never shorted it. And I do think the company is well-run and very (too) polished... Not that those qualities will help much when the fad dies.
